St. Ignatius Prayer for Generosity

Dearest Lord, teach me to be generous. Teach me to serve You as You deserve; To give and not to count the cost; To fight and not to heed the wounds;

To toil and not to seek for rest; To labor and not to ask reward. Save that of knowing that I do your will, my God.

GRAND KNIGHT’S COLUMN

Brother Knights,

Thank you all for the wonderful attendance at the meeting in January when we had our guests, Todd Mack's family, and Teddi Michler. The meal was very good and very filling, Thanks Chad, Marvin, and anyone else who lent a hand.

I hope everyone has been receiving their newsletters, and has been watching the work schedule. We have been kind of slow the last couple of months, but things are about to change. Fish fries start March 3, along with two crews being scheduled for each week, there is also a group that fries every week, a group that helps with shut-in meals every week, and another group that tries to help oversee certain facets of the process to make sure all goes well. On top of that we have bookings for the weekends as well, and Ball Games are not too far away either. So pay attention, and be ready.

Back to Fish Fries a minute, we need consistent, reliable help on Friday afternoon to get things ready for the evening meal. If anyone is able to help, hopefully every week starting around 2:30-3:00 PM, let me, Rob Kroupa, or Jerry Heitman know, or just show up at the first fish fry and let these men know you can assist every week, it will be greatly appreciated. Also, team Captains don't forget to let your people know that the evening is not over until the last dish is washed and put away, and that the hall is swept, and the tables and chairs cleaned, this task is not fun for anyone, but it has to be done.

The Annual Knight's Appreciation Dinner is Saturday Feb 18, 2006 after 5:00 pm Mass. Hope you can attend. This is an adult evening sponsored by the Home Association where we honor certain men and women of the Council for outstanding service and thank everyone for their hard work and dedication. Marvin Armistead has also invited a couple of State Dignitaries to be with us as well. I look forward to seeing you there.

In closing, the past couple meetings have drug a little long, I try to contain the meetings as much as possible, while still allowing everyone with an opinion to speak. This is fine and works well, as long as we stick to the topic, pay attention to others, and get the point we each wish to make as quickly as possible. This will created shorter discussions, less repeating to get everyone on the same page, and ultimately, a shorter meeting.

Fraternally,

Randy Leitman, G.K.

FINANCIAL SECRETARY'S COLUMN

By Jason Bolte:

As I sit here writing this month's installment and getting the newsletter put together I can say that the dues are still coming in at a steady pace. Remember to avoid getting a second notice I need to have dues in by the end of the month or notification if more time is needed. Unfortunately I have not had time as of yet to put together the new work crew list that I said I would do at the last meeting however I hope to have something together (time permitting) by the meeting for the team captains to go through. As I approach my first full year as your secretary I realize that the task that I have undertaken was quite a bit larger than anticipated however through diligence I should get this down to be a fairly well oiled machine. On anotheer note since the last meeting I was able to go on retreat with my fellow brothers and thoroughly enjoyed myself and would encourage anyone who has not attended one to go next year. It was spiriually enlightening and I came back feeling more refreshed than if I had taken a week off of work. Finally one last thing before I go amd make this a long column the Fourth Degree as has been stated in newsletters past is going to be held April 1. I need to know no later than March 1 if you plan on attending so that we can get you registered.

That is all the information I have for you at this time. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call me anytime. Home 636-366-4969…Cell 636-262-9642…Work 314-206-5109. or email me at jb0819@yahoo.com.

Fraternally Yours,

Jason Bolte

LECTURER'S COLUMN

By Dr. John C. Soucy, Jr., M.D.:

Please pray for the helpless unborn…

Heavenly Father, in Your love for us, protect against the wickedness of the devil, those helpless little ones to whom You have given the gift of life.

Touch with pity the hearts of those women pregnant in our world today who are not thinking of motherhood.

Help them to see that the child they carry is made in Your image – as well as theirs – made for eternal life.

Dispel their fear and selfishness and give them true womanly hearts to love their babies and give them birth and all the needed care that a mother alone can give.

We ask this through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Our Lord, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
